Unnamed C18th - Wedding Dress/Shawl
  • Notes: Originally recorded as 'Ross' but only by association so relabelled as 'Unnamed' - PEM. This fragment formed part of a dress or shawl worn by Miss Middleton, of Mains of Logie, Angus, at her wedding to George Ross in 1766 during the period of proscription of tartan. It has some similarity with Jacobite tartan. Information from John Ross, Esq., High Wycombe
