The University of Georgia tartan was commissioned for UGA by Mr. Estes & Mrs. Hoover, who commissioned Matthew Newsome of the Scottish Tartans Museum in Franklin, NC, to design the tartan. They hold copyright to the tartan, which has been officially accepted by the University.
