See also #1780 which states: "Created in 1985 from oil painted portrait of Sir Robert Dalrymple of Castleton, circa 1720 which appears in ‘Tartans’ book by Christian Hesketh. Specimen recreated and woven by Don Rankin c. 1985 (Sindex notes)."
However – the portrait in the Hesketh book on P14 is noticeably different with green in place of the blue shown at #1780.
