Thought to have been designed by Geoffrey (Tailor) Highland Crafts of Edinburgh for Mungo Jamie Tennent in memory of his father William Prentice Tennent. Blue for the River Avon, white for the ‘lucky’ white heather, red for the Tennent blood line and green for the fertile lands of Avondale. The River Avon is thought to that which flows through Strathavon into the River Spey.
