  • Notes: Sindex Card from Jim McAslan 2003: James Scarlett explanatiion: Widowed Mrs Dunbar came to marry MacBain of Tomatin (Invereen) about 1720 and she brought her family with her. This plaid was found (date?) at Edinchat in Strathdearn. MacBain died in 1859 and the last member of that MacBain family was in an Inverness retirment home in 2004. This is Grant of Lurg (#527) with a blue line on red instead of a white line. See also dress tartan for same family at #1248.
