Designed by Harvey Harkness Rulien, WA. USA. Sindex notes:- "Started with the Nithsdale tartan and gradually changed until he arrived at this sett. No particular significance in the choice of colours or ratios other than it – and the Hunting sett – were deliberately made to differ from the Douglasses, originally family landlords for whom the Harknesses have NO love."Sindex count doubled here. Sample in STA’s Johnston Collection. Was woven by Lochcarron but as a special and no stocks are left (Sept. 2004).
