Designed by the STS the tartan echoes the symbolism of the ensigns armorial granted by the Lord Lyon King of Arms. The first material was woven into rugs presented to Her Majesty the Queen who was visiting with the Duke of Edinburgh to East Kilbride on July 12, 1990. Woven by Lochcarron. Sample in STA's Johnston Collection.
