Cunningham Dress, Burgundy (Dance)
  • Notes: Same as 563 but yellow replaces blue. Designed by Hugh Macpherson the Edinburgh Kiltmaker who designed a number of dress tartans for use by dancers. The conventional method of producing a 'dress' version of a tartan is to replace one of the ground colours with white or light grey. Hugh however seems to favour variations on the same design since he has used setts very similar for two Culloden Dress tartans (742 & 1792). Now a Dalgliesh weave.
