  • Notes: Gifted by Aberdeen University to Hong Kong University on the occasion of Hong Kong University's centenary in 2012. Granted in 1913, the University's Shield is reflected in this centenary tartan. The red and gold are for the lion on its field of red and the adjacent azure and light green symbolise Hong Kong's island status. Finally narrow black lines on white denote the open book in the Arms and the University's role in learning and knowledge.
