Anderson to help gather support for the re-establishment of the MacAndreis clan. This tartan signifies the McAndreis independence from the existing Anderson clan. The tartan is suitable for "all of the name" – the sons of Andrew, Anderson, in English, MacAndreis in Gaelic, and those loyal to the chief of MacAndreis. The Scottish Tartans Authority strongly advised that this application should be refused but the National Archives of Scotland decided they knew better.
