Clan/Family		Tartans designed for a clan or family and for use by all of that name and its variants.
District		Tartans associated with a particular geographical area or district.
Corporate		A tartan designed for the sole use of a particular business or corporation.
Commemorative		Tartans that commemorate an event or individual.
Personal		Tartans designed and produced for individuals or individual families and usually not available for wider use.
Fashion		Tartans/checks designed for the fashion trade.
Military		Tartans used by military organisations.

Weaving
It must be emphasised that we will only Record tartans that are intended for commercial production in some form (weaving or printing) and if we do not receive the appropriate sample within three months of the Recording date, we will remove the tartan from the International Tartan Index. No refund of any fees paid will be made.

Certificates
Included in the Recording fee is the provision of a Recording certificate as shown on the right.
Frames
Your certificate can also be supplied in a very handsome green frame together with a sample of the woven tartan. The overall measurements of the frame are around 20 by 14 inches (51 x 35 cms). The tartan sample needs to be a minimum of 9 x 3 inches (22 x 8 cms) and will be in addition to that supplied for the Recording process. The costs below include the Recording, very secure packaging, VAT where applicable and UK 1st class postage or airmail postage anywhere in the world.
