This search system is extremely flexible - if you type in A [or a - the system is not case-sensitive] in the By Tartan box, every tartan beginning with A will be listed - together with the thumbnails. Similarly if you type in At or at, you'll get all tartans beginning with At. This means that if you're not quite sure how a name is spelt,  just type in the initial letter and as many as you're sure of, and the system will do the rest. If you want to see all tartans beginning with the word Scottish . . . type that in. Royal . . . type that in . . . you've got the idea! 

If you can't find a tartan then there's a very good chance that it doesn't exist although we have to say that we can't guarantee that every tartan in existence is in our system - that would be too much to hope for! By the way . . . if you can't find a particular tartan beginning with Mc . . . try Mac.
